I left my car at the auto-shop on thursday. they said it would be finished on saturday. I picked up the car on monday. During this time my stereo was stolen. the car was parked in the shop's parking lot, not garage. What is the shops legal responsibilities in terms of replacing my stereo? Thanks, Eric

Re: My car stereo was stolen from my auto-body shop.
Your question is essentially covered by laws governing bailor-bailee duties. As there was a mutual benefit garnered between the parties, the body shop likely had a duty to reasonably protect your stereo from being stolen. Most likely, this is a small claims matter.
