Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
Used car undisclaimed wreck
I purchased a 99 Subaru in April of 2003 from a private dealer. Since then I have come to find out that it was involved in a collision that I was never told about. There is also about 2- 3 thousand dollars worth of repairs that need to be done ( both head gaskets, brakes, AWD alignment due to mis-matched tires i specificly asked about etc.) The car came with the warranty from Subaru but I am over the miles and there is no repair history so I have been denied. I just want out of the car but am 8000 dollars upside down. Please help me find out what I need to do or can do to help the situation.

Not sure what you mean by a private dealer. Is the seller licensed? Or was the seller a private party. The sellers status is important. Please advise.
Re: Used car undisclaimed wreck
A dealer has no legal obligation to disclose if a vehicle has been in a prior collision unless the vehicle was salvaged or not repaired correctly (i.e. the frame is bent). It sounds like you have no case here. Your best option is a chapter 7 bankruptcy. You probably will not take my advice, but a year or so from now you will wish you did.
Re: Used car undisclaimed wreck
if the failure to report the collision was intentionally or negligently concealed from you, you may have strong rights in respect to your claims here. however, we would need more information regarding it, your discovery of it, as well as any other relevant information surrounding your case in order to further advise you of your rights or options. if you would like a free phone consultation, email us directly with your contact information today.
