Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
Carpet cleaners left stains and doesn't want to come back even to see them.
Carpet cleaners came to make move-out apartment cleaning including carped deep cleaning. After they came we found careless work (some spots appeared on carpet) and call them back. After they came the second time we found red staines on places of previously small spots left after 1st time. Now they say on telephone that it's not their problem.
Our landlord is waiting for us to finish all (or tell that we agree to loose all security deposit - about 2000$).
What options we have in this situation? Can we do anything?
Should we tell landlord to change carpet and after that go to the small claim court to get back security deposit amount from cleaner? Do we have any chances?
And what if we try to clean these stains by ourselves? If it will be successful - great, but if not, how can we prove that it was what they did?
Thank you a lot!

You can file suit in small claims for any losses caused by the cleaners. If you don't have any documents, you will have to rely on testimony.
