Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
We just changed to Dish TV. A verbal contract was made over the phone on 1/6/14. The dish was installed on 1/7/14. We found that what had been promised to us , PBS wasn't available. We called back on 1/7/14 to cancel the service. We were told that this is not possible and it would cost us in the $400.00's to cancel.
What kind of rights does the consumer have in dealing with these companies?

This type of matter typically ends up being received in small claims court. If they won't honor the agreement, then take them to court.
