Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

how can a coalition get funding

I am the founder of an organization that helps the community. I had an idea of ,along with other members of the organization, gathering peoples recyclables and taking them to the recycling place and collecting money for them. This would both help the enviroment and help fund the organization. Is this illegal and could I get in trouble with the IRS. If so are there loopholes or other ways to get around it.

Re: how can a coalition get funding

This would not be illegal so long as you are not taking the materials from city provided bins. If you are a for profit organization than you would have to pay taxes on the money collected. If you are a non profit organization than you would not have to pay taxes depending upon the circumstances. I do not have enough details about your organization to give you a full answer, but I will offer you a free consultation by calling 818-342-8020x1
