Company Liability For Their Property Causing Damage
A company's shopping cart hit my car while I was parked at work. My work's parking lot and their lot are ajoined. The company does not have a sufficient amount of recepticals for their carts (only two for a very large parking lot) and they do not have enough employees collecting carts throughout the day. I believe that they were negligant and I would like to collect enough money from them to repair the damage done to my car. I filed an incident report after the accident and I received a letter from their corporate headquarters stating that they would not pay for the damage. I have an estimate from a auto body repair shop stating that it will cost about $800 to repair my car. Do I have a case to try to collect the money?
