Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
complaint of contract after services began & later stopped payment
i offer moving services for homes & businesses & had a contract to move a home which was to entail loading, transporting,& unloading. before the job started the home owner added that he wanted packing also.i recieved a deposit which cleared. i started the job & he requested an itemized bill for the services so far we had a disagreement at which time he started calling me names. i told him that i would meet him the next day to discuss the problems. in the mean time an employee started drinking w/his wife after i had told him to stop the job & leave,he didn't so i went to the job & we had a arguement i requested the check that the homeowner had given him. the next day i went to finish the job, the employee was there & became involved w/wife arguing about the contract i then demanded full payment for the job or i would unpack the truck & leave. she refused. i unpacked the belongings & left.went to the bank to deposit the check & 3days later got a letter from my bank that they had stopped it. am i still able to collect $ for the time, labor, supplies that i used? & if so how

Re: complaint of contract after services began & later stopped payment
You are the first mover I have ever heard of that takes checks. Assuming you have a Cal-T number and the customer signed your bill of lading you might be able to take him to small claims court.
