Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
Confiscation
My in-laws gave us a Kitchen table and hutch for our anniversary, 2 years ago. My father-n-law, got it from rent a center. He is now saying he never finished paying for it, and they want the set back, or they will arrest him. I say it was a gift, and he will just have to pay it off, but he said that he will give Rent a center our address and they will come get with the police! Can they legally do this? After all it was a gift.

Re: Confiscation
Since it was not his to give, you probably will have to give it back. do it, forget about it and move on. The value of this is not worth the time and trouble.
