Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
I'm not sure if this is considered consumer law or not. I'm currently in an upside down loan with Santander formerly known as Drive Financial. My monthly car payment is $657.69, maturity date 11/13/12. I purchased my vehicle 01/08, and have made every payment online. My only payment options are online, by phone, Western Union, or money gram, each charges at least $10.95 service charge. I have made some of my payments late, in which I have accrued late charges, and interest on top of that. I am not given an option to mail my payment in the form of a check to avoid the additional $10.95 fees. So I figure I've already paid almost an extra $400 in service fees. Is this legal?
