Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
consumer contract
I signed a ''Home Improvement Contract'' with a contractor to remodel my home, construction to begin upon ''permit issuance & funds availability'' ''binding on the heirs, executors, and assigns of the parties.'' If I sell the home, will the new owner be bound by that contract, or may they use their own contractor?

Re: consumer contract
Sigh. The time to investigate the contractual terms and have them explained to you is -before- you sign the contract. The people you sell to are your "assigns," so you have to tell the buyer of this clause. I hope you at least hired a licensed contractor.

Yes. The seller will be bound. And if they do not go through with it, the contractor could sue you.
