Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
consumer law
I put an antique piece on lay away for 2 wks, then because of a possible divorce looming I called store and said I could not complete the sale. I had put over $600 down. The store said once money is gone it is gone. they will not refund the money nor did they offer me store credit. Is that legal.? Only contract was a receipt for my payment that said all sales final. There was no sale, I did not receive the product????

You are almost certainly entitled to recover at least some of your money - and probably all of your money.
