Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

contract dispute...scam!

paid $16,500 late aug. 2006 for vending machines to be placed in various locations. till this day company has delayed several times and give excuses on the delays. demanded full refund and the president told me that they don't give refunds unless i opted to wait for another party to purchase the machines which i invested into. then i would get my money, which i am very skeptical. poor communication; seems like once receiving the money, the president has tried to avoid me. contract does not state that the company give refunds, so why is he telling me that i could only get my money back if i chose to wait for another party to purchase the machines. sounds ridiculous! i just want a full refund. since paying, he has not contacted me to discuss updates or anything! i have been the one to always call to request updates, but always get an excuse on why the delays are happening! i feel like this is a total scam! i just want my money back, or at least get my machines which i paid for and i would place them in locations myself. the president told me that his company don't have my money; that the vending machine distributor has my money and waiting for the locations to be establish before deliverying. it's been 4 1/2 months!!

Re: contract dispute...scam!

You had an attorney review this contract before spending $16,500, right? If you did, contact that attorney. If you did not, you learned a lesson for next time. As for this time, it is time to hire an attorney to deal with this. There is no other advice at this point.
