Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
I have a contract with a moving company who was to move me 1-19 and they sent a sub-contracting company to move me and wanted to charge me another 2,000.00 my contract is for 1,578, and I already paid 1000.00 down now they broke the contract and I do not think they should be able to keep 40% of my money, these people have me stuck here in CA. when i should be on my way to Iowa. Have you contacted the company? There would be questions best answered by the contract itself and whether it was binding or not... . They should not keep the money iftey have not performed. California public utlities handles in state... Federal rules cover interstate moves but you may want to start with Public Utilites or contact an attorney.
