Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
An old co-worker hit my car and made a huge dent in the bumper. I didn't make her pay right away becuse she's a single mom. It's been over a year now, and we have both changed jobs, and now I can't get a hold of her and when I have asked her to pay me in the past she has refused. Can I get her to pay for the damage?

First, you must get a judgment. Then you can try to collect from her or her insurance carrier, if any. You'd have to file a small claims lawsuit and bring all photographs, repair estimates, copies of repair payment checks/credit card statements, and witnesses with you to the trial.
