Is the spouse of a deceased person resposible for the credit card debt when the card and credit is in deceased persons name only?

As a general rule, spouses are liable for debts incurred before and during marriage absent a pre or post nuptual agreement. If one spouse dies, one-half of the community property is liable for the debt, particularly if the surviving spouse has received any property as a result of the death.
