Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
damages from laptop reseller or manufacturer for
On Dec. 24th 2008, I bought an HPlaptop through Best Buy online. It didn't work and so I used HP for support. Now, more than 90 days later, the issue is still unresolved and I have been in daily communication to get the computer returned. I have been working on this request for most of this time and there are various reasons and processes they have been putting me through. I have phone and email records showing how much time I've been putting into this. I work for myself, so I can't prove specific monetary damages from spending all this time and hours on the phone. But, I am emotionally drained from this experience and it's left me with no options to go buy a computer elsewhere until I get my money back. Is it possible to go after either Best Buy or HP for any damages for this continuing process. Even if I get my money back from Best Buy, that is not enough to compensate me for my time and frustration, so that's what I want to ask about.

You are not going to be able to recover any damages for the time and frustration you have experienced. In fact, the warranty probably has a specific disclaimer disclaiming any liability for these types of damages.

Your message did not describe the problem with your HP computer. Please describe the problem in detail so that I can evaluate the issue. Thanks.
