Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

Dangeroud Illegal product sold to me at local drug store.

I purchased a diet supplement a few days ago from my local well known drug store chain. I found out that the product had been banned in 2 0 0 3 because it had EPHEDRA in it. I know it was illegal for the store to sell me that product. My question is can I sue them for what might have happend to me? Like perhaps die? Would this be a big law suit or just a sorry we might have put your life in danger here is a few thousand? Thank you so much.

Sorry, in most cases you can't sue for what "might have happened." You need to have suffered some injury in order to obtain an award of damages. No harm, no foul, no lawsuit.

Return the product, get your money back, and call it a day.

I agree with the other attorneys who responded. You can get your money back and that is about it. You only get the big bucks if something really bad did happen.

I concur with the other attorneys. Your post raises a question, though. How do you know that the product contains Ephedra?
