Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
Deadbeat Roommate & His Stuff
I had a ''roommate'' live with me for about 3 years. After asking him to move out, he finally did, but he needed money to move. Our verbal agreement was that I would loan him $800 to move out and he would leave his stuff at my house until he could afford to pay me back and get his things. (His timing was within a month or next spring).
He has now informed me that he has no way of paying me back.
What are my rights in regards to removing his things from my home?
Thank you!

Re: Deadbeat Roommate & His Stuff
You can send him the appropriate notice under Civil Code sections 1983 thru 1991, and then follow the procedures outlined in those sections.
