Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
Can a dealership be guilty of "Straw Purchase" Fraud? Case in point: driver of car is new to the U.S. (approx. 4 months). Just started a job, no paycheck as yet. Dealer uses mother as applicant for credit. Mother on fixed income, approx. $400/mo. Dealer lists her income as $3500/mo. Dealer makes her sign a form forfeiting her "Buyer's Remorse" protection. Is dealer guilty of Straw Purchase (or any other enforceable form of fraud)? Are the Mother and son guilty of anything? Thanks!

Straw purchases give rise to complex legal issues for all involved. Usually when I see a Straw purcahses there are MANY other legal violations, and this deal appears typical in that regard. The Hanson Law Firm has handled many of these cases successfully for consumers, but a lawyer's help and advice is essential.
