Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

Dentist is billing me for work not done

Dentist is billing me for cleaning teeth on left side, which was not done (only the right was done). Per my request they sent me a copy of

a document signed by a ''screen'' signature like the kind used for credit cards. I didn't sign this paper but can't prove it so I probably just got scammed & will have to pay. Any recourse, or just never sign a ''screen'' again?

Re: Dentist is billing me for work not done

The general question as to whether one should sign "screens" is interesting. I used to flatly refuse (most merchants won't make you) then I thought of something. I write the date ("12-13") next to my signature or on top of it, figuring that if anybody ever tries to scam me like this they will mess up and use a signature of mine with a date that doesn't match. But I don't know for sure, and you'd better believe that there will one day soon be a big identity theft incident involving all these imaged signatures that are out there.
