do you get your deposit back from a car dealer if you dont purchase the vehicle and never take delivery of the vehicle

This doesn't compute. Why would you put a deposit down without signing the purchase agreement? You would have to read whatever agreement you signed to determine what becomes of the deposit. Absent an agreement, it seems that the deposit should be returned.
