Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
Direct TV Unfair Billing Practices
I have been with Direct TV for one year. In November I received a bill for adult pay per view movies billed to my account. I contacted Direct TV and wrote a letter disputing the charges. They emphatically stated that the movies were ordered and viewed from my television. The total number of movies viewed in one month were 18. Our history with Direct TV shows that we have never ordered adult pay per view movies and have in the last year ordered a total of 3 pay per view movies for the year. I wrote a second letter of dispute and sent it to the president of the company and have not received a response. I am at my witts end!! The bills total $526 and my regular monthly bill has never exceeded $50 in any given month. I have contacted the FCC and filed a complaint with the FTC. Is there any other action that I can take to ensure me not having to pay this bill?

Unforunately, you are in a quandry. You should not only talk to direct tv, but speak to a vice president or someone with real authority.
