Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

Elderly woman gets ripped off by auto repair

My aging Mother got taken for several thousand dollars on her 20 year old car. The repair was done 3/10/04. Am I running out of time to file suit against the repair shop?

I am looking for someone to help me with this.

Breach of written contract claims have a 4 year statute of limitations. Breach or verbal contracts are 2 years. Fraud is generally 3 years. Some negligence claims are only 1 year. I don't have enough facts to determine exactly what causes of action you have. However, if the charges were fabricated, your mother may have a fraud claim. Also, an elder abuse claim should be looked into (this carries heavy penalties). I wouldn't delay because witnesses are lost and memories fade. Also, you may lose a cause of action with a 1 year statute of limitations. Call us if you need help.

I can help you get it done. You will have to pay me for my time. Likely $1000-1500 in attorney time to prepare your filings correctly.
