Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

Hello,

My name is Frank Thomas and was a student at a vocational school in California. According to the state of California, word "Accreditation" means "A school that is accredited by an agency that is recognized by US DOE". Do you think the school is misleading the potential students in any way with the following advertisement on thier website. Appreciate your answer on this. Our school website states as follows:

School is accredited by Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC)Accrediting Commission of Schools and Colleges: http://www.acswasc.org/

The school is currently accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) through June 30, 2016. Please note that as of October 26, 2010, WASC has voluntarily withdrew its participation from the U.S. Department of Education. This action by WASC has caused school to lose the eligibility to participate and receive Title IV Financial Aid.

" Dental hygiene program's accreditation by the Commission on Dental Accreditation has been withdrawn on February 02, 2012 due to the fact that school is no longer accredited by any agencies that has US DOE recognition. WASC is school's primary institutional accreditation agency and WASC has voluntarily pulled out their recognition from US DOE.

I think it's pretty clear from what you have submitted that the school is not accredited by the U.S. DOE and the Commission on Dental Accreditation. The lack of these key accreditations is probably significant to potential students, but it might be up to the students to exercise diligence in determining how it will impact their eligibility for financial aid and their careers.
