Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
A friend of mine just bought a Lexus from another friend of her's. In buying the car, she did not know that there were tickets on the car. One week later the car was towed. The car title had not yet been switched over into her name. She was unable to get the car out of impound. The seller will not give her the monies paid back to her. The question is, is the person who sold the car responsible (in the state of California) to either re-imburs her money, get the car out of impound, or pay the tickets and return the car to her.

Your friend should sue the seller in small claims court for not disclosing the unpaid tickets.
