Furniture Warranty
We bought a sofa sleeper and loveseat in 1989, with a lifetime warranty. The salesman told us everything but the upholstery was covered, including the pillow backs and innerspring cushions as long as we owned it. Now, 12 years later, we need the cushions and pillowbacks replaced because they've gotten squashy. We're now told the warranty is only if the product is defective, which would have happened in the first 6 months. We have a copy of the warranty cert., which does state that it is a lifetime warranty on the cushions and pillows, if they prove to be defective, which is not the way the salesman explained it. Why give it a lifetime warranty if it doesn't cover it for the lifetime? Do we have any recourse? They say it's our cost to replace these items, which is not why we paid more for furniture with a so-called 'lifetime warranty'.
