Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
Giving Away Swingset
I placed an ad in the paper that I am giving away a swingset for free if they take apart & haul away themselves. I received many emails wanting it, but one concerned me. They asked if I knew that if the person takes it off my property, and sets it up on theirs, they can still sue me if they get hurt on it. Is this true?

Anybody can sue anybody for anything, which is why prudent people have homeowners' or renters' insurance.

I guess theoretically you could get sued. But, in reality, I dont see that happening. If they set it up and someone is hurt, it falls on the person who set it up.
