Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
harassment
Just bought a house and had it reroofed. I have a signed contract from a roofing company listing total price to complete the job, includes all materials and labor. The new roof is completed except for a few cosmetic details. The contract states cleary that once signed the price listed CAN NOT be changed. The salesman made a mistake and under measured the size of the roof. He brought this to my attention after the job was half completed and is now asking for an additional $5K. I've informed him that I made my decission to do business with his company based on the info he provided and that I will pay the price stated on the contract. He is now in harassment mode saying such things as (if you don't pay for the extra materials how can you sleep at knight?; When mistakes like this are made other people have always been willing to pay for the materilas they've received; you're a reasonable guy, isn't it reasonable to you to pay for the materials we put on your house?) I know his company is bound by the contract but my question is, what can I do to stop his harassment? Thanking you in advance.

Re: harassment
You are right. He made the mistake and must live with it. If he continues to harass you, notify the state contractors licensing board.
