Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
HI...I have a question. We hired a garage door company to come and fix our garage door. They came and fixed the problem. Then, after two weeks our garage door broke again. We called them back Thursday night and they said they would send someone here Friday morning. One of us missed work and stayed home waiting for them. They later called saying that they could not come Friday, and they could only come Sunday morning because they were jews and don't work Saturday. Now, we have to sleep with our garage open and unprotected. Their web site shows 24/7 emergency call and does not say anything about jews. If we knew they were jews maybe we would hire someone else in the first place. We have 90 warranty and we don't want to pay for another company to come here and do the service. Now we have to sleep one more night with no protection and we have a small child here. Also, because one of us missed work we are not going to get paid for the holiday next week. This company is nothing but a headache. We need to know what we need to do. Thanks.

The fact that they are Jewish is not relevant. The fact that they are closed on Saturdays is important to know and should have been disclosed. Since you are very concerned about your security, you might just go with a different company and try to collect a refund on your repair contract from the first company, or request damages for their breach of contract.
