Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
We have hired the contractor to perform the remodeling of our condo. Under the contract we have signed we have to pay for labor and materials. The contractor bought the tools for our money without telling us. We found this and we want to have the money back. How we can proceed ? Thank you.

If the amount in question is less than $7,500, you can sue him in small claims court. Over $7,500 you have to file in Superior Court Limited Jurisdiction. You can also file a claim against their license bond and file a complaint against their license, by contacting the Contractors State License Board. They're on the web.
