Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
Illegal import of textbook
Hello,
Please refer to this thread http://www.lawguru.com/cgi/bbs/mesg.cgi?i=439032689
If you dont want to do that then here is a recap.
I bought an TEXTBOOK which was advertised as a paperback on amazon.com. When i received the book i discovered that it was a lemon (the quality of the book was pathetic and not as advertised) and I also saw that the book is authorised for sale in some countries only.
If I can prove that the book was illegally imported into the USA, can I sue the seller for selling me an illegal item.
Thanx in advance,
Seeker

Re: Illegal import of textbook
you might be able to sue for breach of contract depending on the quality of the book. for example, if it were a used book they advertized as new. there is now such thing as an illegal book in this country. do an internet seach for the US Constitution and read the first amendment to the constitution. That is the part that covers what books are legal.
