Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
Improper Business Practice
I purchased a new cell phone about a month ago. At the time that I bought the phone I set up automatic monthly payments for my phone bill. About a week ago my phone stopped working. When I try to make a call it automatically redirects me to a customer service line. The customer service reps have given me several different reasons for the phone not working ranging from the phone isn't designed to work on their network to the phone was stolen from their store and was therefore never connected in the first place. I used the phone for 3 weeks. It was connected. I keep being placed on hold for over an hour at a time and no one is willing to help solve the problem. I have a receipt for the phone and since I paid with a debit card I also have my bank statement. Since they are refusing me service is there a way to get my money back?
