Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
Ok well I'm also having some of the same issues as a few questions I've read. Purchased a car 12 days ago now being advised they can't finance the car. I've talked to the finance manager several times and he's never directly asked me to bring the car back he just keeps saying "I'll see what I can do". I've already filed a complaint with the FTC because the salesperson lied on a printed application that he typed up (not the one we wrote ourselves) stating my fianc made $400 a month more then we put on our original application. They still have yet to ASK me to bring the car back. The contract states the have 10 days but since the salesperson lied on the application I'm afraid they'll try to use it against us in some way. The only reason the financing didn't go threw was because I'm on temporary disability which on the application under employer I put disability and they never asked if it was temporary or permanent till several days later. What are my options? I really would like to keep the car but I also don't want to get in any trouble (credit wise). I was told by a long time friend who was a salesperson for a dealership for over 20 years that they can't take the car that I need to just mail the payments directly to the dealership. Please help.

It's another yo-yo sale, and yes, your salesperson friend is correct. If they squawk get a Lawyer Letter. If they repo the car, it's your lucky day, you'd have a free lawsuit against the dealership.
