Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
Jewelry Store Fraud
My fiance went to a jewelery store to buy an engagement ring. The jeweler offered a cash discount. My fiance did not get a receipt nor was it offered when he picked up the ring. He noticed one of the stones was discolored and did not look right but the proposal was planned that night and the jeweler said that after the proposal he could bring the ring back and he would replace the flawed diamond. To make a long story short, he lost the ring, replaced it with a horrible ring, months of delays, lies, verbal abuse and still no ring. Do we have any recourse with no receipt?
