Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

judgement

I was just served papers by the court regarding an old credit card I hadn't paid. I had moved 3 times in 5 yrs and had forgotten about it. Never received any thing in the mail after i had moved. 7 yrs later they find me, attached my wages with out me knowing, never got court papers in advance. Do I have any legal rights? Can I stop the wages assignment? would they reduce the amount? Please advise me of what I need to do or can do....I need help Please!!!

Thanks,

Jackie

Re: judgement

Yes, you have rights here and should aggressively assert them. More factual information would be needed from you, however, you may be able to set aside any judgments against you, or mitigate or remove the wage assignment in a number of ways.
