Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
Had a landscaper start a landscaping project on May 11, 2022. Contract states that project will be finished end of May 2022. The project is still not finished and it’s been one excuse after the next. The latest excuse is he’s having surgery this week out of state. It’s a total lie. I can prove it. What recourse do I have that won’t cost me lawyer fees that are more than the project itself. Total cost of project is $50K. I have paid him $23K. Thanks!

https://www.cslb.ca.gov/consumers/filing_a_complaint/ You can also file a claim against his license bond. Information on doing that is also available from the CSLB.
