More information would be needed to understand the siutation:
1. What is the nature of the suit by Chase? (Why are they suing you?)
2. When were you served with the summons? How many days does it say you have to respond?
3. What state are you in?
4. What is the name of the court you are in?
Thanks,

You need to file an answer to the complaint. My guess is you are being sued for a credit card debt. If so, you can file a form contract case answer. http://courtinfo.ca.gov/forms
