Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

letter requesting payment

I wanted to try to find if there was a template i could use to request the money owed to me from the defendant before i file the claim. Is there any website that had that kind of template for me to use and request this? or is it better done at an attorneys office? keeping in mind i am currently unemployed.

I could do a letter for you fairly inexpensively.

Re: letter requesting payment

You can google [how to write a demand letter]. Or if you think the defendant will respond better to a letter written on lawyer letterhead, pay a lawyer to write the letter.
