Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
losing Section 8 because of So Cal Gas Co
I am a senior citizen, Section 8 tenant and I can not get So Cal Gas Company to establish service in my name at the apartment where I am the sole legal tenant until an outstanding bill of over $600 in someone else's name is paid.
The Housing Authority requires the cooking gas burners to operate or the unit will fail inspection. I am recently unemployed and on General Relief and can not afford to be evicted because of a technicality.
What can I do to get service established for the purpose of passing inspection?

You will have to check with the landlord about the prior bill. Also contact one of the neighborhood legal services that help seniors in your situation. Good luck.
