Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

I made a purchase of two pictures with customized frame at LIK VENETIAN at Las Vegas.

Upon purchase, we paid in full of $5479.

When the pictures were arrived, we found they look totally different from what we see at the store.

The display has a beautiful glare due to the lights set up in the studio and a different size of pictures.

With real life setting and the size of pictures we ordered, it looks very depressive with the 9" black board. I have to put the pictures back to the boxes to reduce the bad feeling at home.

We found on receipt, it says, 20% deposit and 80% due after 90 days,

We called and ask for possible refund or re-frame without black board.

The re-frame cost $2400. The refund request is denied.

The re-frame may improve a little. However, it is really hard to tell the outcome.

Hence, we prefer to get 80% refund.

Peter Lik Forum at Las Vegas charged full amount instead of 20% deposit,

80% pay in full term, this is against their store policy.

Furthermore, they offer product which looks different in the studio than the real life.

In addition, they did not explain to us how different frame options fit the pictures

when we were at Forum.

What should we do now?

Any organization to complain?

Can we sue them in a small court?

You may have to have a lawyer read the contract very carefully to determine what rights you have. It is not possible to understand what exactly you paid for and what you got, without seeing the entire contract.

As a first step, and assuming that you made the purchase on a credit card, you can dispute the charges with the credit card issuer. The issuer will not resolve the dispute for you, but the transaction will be put on hold pending a resolution.
