Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
I had maintenance performed on my car at it's respective dealership. They service department employee instructed me that the maintenance was free of charge in accordance with a car care plan and included an itemized bill reflecting this. Three days later I received a phone call from the service department employee saying they made a mistake, that i don't have the care plan, and I would have to now pay for the maintenance costs or the cost would come out of the employees paycheck. Am I legally obligated to pay?

No. And they would not legally be allowed to dock their employee's pay, which suggests that the whole story is BS.
