Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
I was in the middle of a year lease agreement when the management company changed the late fee penalty from $50.00 to $75.00. I thought the my lease was a legal binding contract and cannot be changed until it was renewed. Is this legal?

Unless the lease has a provision allowing for a change in some terms during the period of the lease, you are correct that its terms can not be changed without the consent of the other party.
