Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
Misrepresentation of return policy
If the babiesrus web site currently has an in-store return policy posted for returns without a receipt, if I go in to a Babies r Us store to make a return, and the store says that they have changed their policy, should the store still have to honor the policy posted on the web site, or can they disregard the posted web site policy and just use their new policy? It seems like the web site is misrepresenting things if the stores no longer follow the terms posted on the web site.

Re: Misrepresentation of return policy
Of course, a very thorough review of the facts would be necessary to determine how strong your position is, legally. Generally, if that policy was posted at the time you made a purchase, the store should be bound by it with respect to that purchase.
