Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

Odometer Fraud

I purchased a car in 11/00 with an odometer reading of 101,000. At that time, I did some repair to the car for $1,300. In 1/01, I discovered the car actually had over 259,000 mi. The dealer refused to work with me, so I hired an attorney, hired a PI. All this cost an additional $1,300. Now, my attorney tells me all I will get back is the original cost of the car and not the attorney fees or any of the other expenses. What can I do to recoup my remaining losses of $2,600. Thank you for your attention
