Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
I was offered a 1000 dollars online shopping spree and 5 year subscription to magazines. By mistake i gave them my credit card number and they start charging me. I did not sign any contract. I did agree to the deal on the phone, but i thought that as long as i did not sign anythng, i would be fine. When i called them back and told them that according to statute of fraud, any transaction over 500 dollars should have a written consent, they said that the law is diiferent in different states and that they have my verbal agreemnt on record. Is this a scam
