Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
I ordered tickets to my class reunion online 3 weeks ago. i have a family issue that has come up and I am unable to go. i asked for a refund, as the reunion isn't until the middle of next month. They wrote back saying I missed the cut-off for refunds. I called them and they told me the cut-off for a refund was in December 2009, 5 months before the reunion and 3 months before I even bought the tickets. I offered to let them keep a small percentage of the money, but did not agree that they keep it all. They said NO. I went back onto their website and the cut-off that they were referring to was in a differernt part of the website and would not have been something I would normally see.
My question is, do I have any standing to go back and demand a refund of my money, or am I bound to the small print on their website of their cut-off date?

It sounds like the cut-off is unreasonable -- especially if it's before you even purchased the tickets. It seems that you should have had a reasonable time to rescind your purchase. Small claims court might be the answer, especially before the event, if possible.
