Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
Paid cash for used car In San Diego in late February 2015 from a dealer. Dealer has not given me the title, has not completed registration on the vehicle leaving the car without license plates. I have received a letter from CA DMV stating my car can be impounded
for the incomplete registration. Dealer is aware. Someone left in my mailbox yesterday a temporary permit to operate from the DMV. However, for it to be valid it has to be accompanied by either the receipt for the permit or a qualifying letter from the department that issued the permit - neither of which I have. I have filed a complaint with the BBB. They have tried twice to contact the dealer but have had no response. I want to sell the car, but can't. I am afraid to drive the car for fear it will be impounded. What recourse do I have? Thank you.

File small claims if value of vehicle is under $7500, or hire and attorney.
Good luck!
