Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
I paid cash for a down payment on a car and the finance manage stated that the sales contract would act as proof of cash down payment. Two weeks later I received a call from dealer ship stating they had no record of the cash down payment. They stated that I should have a receipt. All I have is a sale contract showing cash as a down payment. Is the acceptable proof of down payment? The amount was $4000.

If you paid cash, and you didn't demand a receipt, good luck with that.
