Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
I paid my contractor large sum of money (over 50K) to do my house remodeling/ additional. I paid the check to his company name. After taking the money, he never did the work. But he repaid the money (after 2 years time) and he issued the check from his personal account. Will I have any tax related issues for taking the refund from his personal account instead of his company account. If so, what should I do?

Just give an explanation on your supplemental tax forms. If you took it as a loss before, you might have to include it as imcome now.
