I purchased a vehicle as of November

Re: No paperwork sent to me after I purchased a car

This question makes no sense. Why do you believe you "purchased a vehicle"? Didn't you get the certificate of title (pink slip)? Didn't you get a registration? Why would you pay money for a car without demanding and receiving the pink slip? Why would you drive a car without insurance? All this suggests you used very poor judgment.

Re: No paperwork sent to me after I purchased a car

You are liable if the accident was your fault. Thus, if the other person was hurt and/or the other vehicle was damaged and it was your fault, a lawsuit could -- potentially be filed against you in the next several years. Likely, the other party's insurance carrier will pay the other driver for injuries and damages to the extent of the policy and then come after you for reimbursement.

If the accident was not your fault, you may make a demand of the responsible party for damages to your vehicle and your medical bills -- but not for pain and suffering.

As to your pink slip woes, see Mr. Stone's answer. If you have something on paper that shows you purchased the car, then you could bring a lawsuit against the person who sold it to you to deliver the paperwork. In any case, you shouldn't be driving an uninsured vehicle.
